What We Offer

Focused. Outcome Based. Professional.

CONVOCATION

The beginning of a new school year is a good time to contemplate who we are and why we’re here. This opening session is inspirational, interactive and will leave your staff with renewed thinking about our own wellness, who we serve and why, and how we can support each other so we are stronger to help our students! Let’s face it. The adults in our organizations need each other, and the stronger we are together, the better the school environment. The better the school environment, the better we can serve others and the happier we feel. Let’s commit to trust, grace and active listening. How? We have to start with robust self-awareness and self-care. When we are grounded, centered and truly confident, we have better patience, perspective, forgiveness and connection to others. What Am I Doing Here? helps our educators and staff examine their own purpose in work, and how to live and interact in a more peaceful way, even in a challenging environment. HAVING DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS WITH POSITIVE RESULTS

In this series of sessions, participants will learn a step-by-step model on how to facilitate difficult conversations with employees, constituents, colleagues and supervisors. The sessions can be tailored to any group and can be provided in succession to gain understanding, reflection and skills in several areas of communication and have lots of repeated opportunity for practice. Each participant will walk away with plans to get started, language to use, guidelines about what works and confidence to initiate those dreaded conversations that need to be had sooner than later!

With years of experiences as a principal, assistant and deputy superintendent in human resources, and university instructor, Dr. Corum shares tools she used to successfully work with difficult employee issues, tricky collective bargaining scenarios and tough conversations with colleagues and staff. She uses her own decades of experiences and watching successful leaders with remarkable communication skills, to share what works in having those challenging discussions. SELF CARE FOR LEADERS

Self-Care is such a critical part of leadership and taking care of others. Leaders must have keen self-awareness, and a plan for their own wellness in order to lead. This session touches on Dr. Bill Hettler’s six dimensions of wellness (physical, emotional, spiritual, occupational, social and intellectual), explores how participants think about their own wellness and guides a study of developing good habits for living healthy lives. GROW YOUR OWN: ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT

Many school districts in Missouri are now considering a “Grow Your Own” approach to teacher recruitment and retention. With successful programs all over the state, and financial assistance through Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) grants, districts are finding a variety of ways to develop and implement programs to enhance their teacher pipeline. Our team will work with your district leadership and Grow Your Own committees by providing access to a variety of resources and training to help you develop and maintain a successful program. SUPPORT STAFF LEADER TRAINING

Leaders of non-instructional staff in school districts are some of the most important people on our team! Transportation Directors, Food Service Managers, Safety Coordinators, Maintenance Foremen, Custodial Supervisors, Tech Support Leaders, Nurse Supervisors, and everyone else who supervise, manage and lead people in support areas are critical to the success of our students. These professionals often crave some of the same professional leadership learning that our educational leaders have, yet sometimes get left out.

This Series offers professional growth opportunities for leaders of non-instructional staff in your district. Four sessions will include some of the learning experiences that our educational leaders have had (school culture, effective communication, having difficult conversations, time management), and will be tailored specifically to these particular leadership positions. DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Why is it that some people seem so challenging and difficult? Is it them or is it me? This is one of the sessions in the series, Having Difficult Conversations with Positive Results and helps participants deal with the nagging feelings we all have around certain people. Participants will walk away with language, strategies and attitudes that will help them deal with the most trying colleagues, friends and even family members! Click Here to find out more.
